Consecration of Cemetery 23rd June 2018 1pm

In recent months the extension to Donisthorpe Cemetery has been opened following extensive drainage works and provision of new footpaths and roadway.

The project will come to fruition when on Saturday 23rd June 2018 a Service of Consecration for this area of land will take place in Donisthorpe Cemetery at 1.00pm. This service of blessing and dedication will be performed by Bishop Guli, the new Bishop of Loughborough. More »

This extension of the cemetery forms an important part of history and will provide a final resting place for many people in the community for at least the next 100 years.

Councillor Ray Merry, Chairman of the Burial Committee extends an invitation to all members of both the Ashby Woulds and Oakthorpe Donisthorpe and Acresford communities and any organisation or business associated with Donisthorpe Cemetery to attend this unique event. It is anticipated that the service will last about 30 minutes after which everyone is welcome to gather at St. John's Church, Donisthorpe where refreshments will be provided.
