Albert Village Park

We would like to thank all of our litter pickers who continue to work hard keeping our parish clean and tidy. Special thanks to those doing an amazing job at Albert Village which has seen a big increase in litter over recent months. Only last week a volunteer spent an hour Sunday morning litter picking in the trees and bushes behind the goals. The majority of the rubbish collected was plastic water and soft drink bottles disgarded by a group using the pitch. This group of people are using the pitch without permission of the town council and we are keen to talk to them. If anyone has any information please contact the town council office.

We are disappointed to report an incident of fly-tipping at Spring Cottage in the car park of the recreation ground. The items have been removed and checked for information. Personal information was found among the items and has been passed to NWLDC for further investigation.

Anyone caught could face a fixed penalty notice of £400 or if convicted could receive an unlimited fine and/or up to 12 months jail - if the case is heard in a Magistrates Court.

During the last couple of days the Defib at Moira Village Hall has been taken. It is likely it has been used in an emergency. If you have any information relating to this or know of it's whereabouts please get in touch. It is important life saving equipment and we woud like to reinstall it asap.
